Meet the team
As your dedicated point of contact for Barclays Private Bank mortgages, the team brings together key people and resources to support you and your client with their mortgage needs.
We draw on a wealth of experience from within Barclays, as well as the mortgage intermediary market and wider private banking and finance industry. This means we are exceptionally well placed to understand and cater to the unique demands of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth mortgage brokers and borrowers.
Joining Barclays Private Bank in October 2021 to head the mortgage intermediary partnerships team Matt has over 20 years’ experience working directly in the intermediary market. Having both built client books and worked in management at some of London’s top high net worth mortgage brokerages Matt has an acute understanding of the demands and challenges faced by intermediaries and high net worth clients. In his role as team leader he is the first point of contact for many introducers and responsible for the overall management of the team and delivery of a service in line with Barclays high standards and values.
With 27 years’ banking experience, Colin started at Barclays in 1995 and has held positions in Retail, Corporate and the Private Bank. Now back with the Private Bank following an 11-year stint with a boutique private bank where he was both a private banker and senior lending specialist, and responsible for its lending proposition.
Colin uses his experience of advising global high-net-worth individuals to structure broker-led deals, as well as helping to further improve the proposition and process.
Steph joined Barclays in 2015, working in its Corporate Bank Real Estate team, with roles across real estate debt structuring, origination and asset management. Since 2018, she has worked in the Private Bank as credit specialist, focusing on delivering an enhanced investment property lending proposition. Steph’s in-depth knowledge of Barclays policies and procedures and expertise in real estate finance can support you in effectively navigating our offering.
Matt Collins - Mortgage Adviser
Matt joined Barclays in 2018, working in Barclays Retail bank as a Mortgage Adviser. Matt moved to the Private Bank in 2021 supporting international high net worth clients and intermediaries with their real estate financing needs. Matt has developed a comprehensive knowledge of dealing with the HNW and UHNW markets, in the UK and overseas, being a trusted adviser and delivering a streamlined, client-centric, process, from end to end.
We’re open to lending on properties and select overseas locations to individuals, trusts and other non-personal borrowing vehicles. Clients can take fixed, variable, or part-and-part rates, on an interest only, capital repayment, or part-and-part basis.
